Hansen Family

Susanne, John William, Elisabet and Flemming Hansen


Flemming and Elisabet Hansen got to know each other in 1973, and got married in Oslo, Norway in 1974.

Since then our family has been involved in privately sponsored volunteer work giving love and cheer to thousands in many countries from Europe to the Far East.

Beginning in the early 70's we worked on the streets of London, Oslo and in Christania (Copenhagen) among drug addicts and hippies.

With a growing family we moved to Asia in the 80's where we worked in Malaysia, Singapore and India

In the 90's we were back in Europe, where we, basing out of Denmark and Switzerland, brought humanitarian aid to many East European countries.

The Far East had made a deep impression on us, and we had fallen in love with its people, so when the opportunity presented itself in 2000, we again left for Asia, this time Cebu City in the Philippines. Since then we have lived and worked here as missionaries, and are very thankful and proud of all the projects we have been able to start and run together with our fellow missionaries.

I am French and joined the team in Cebu in November 2008 after 9 years in West Africa and 36 years of missionary life and humanitarian work in more than 20 different countries! I am very happy to have come and live with such gentle people as the Philipinos and contributing in all the projects of Rise Above Foundation.

I know that 'little truly goes such a long way' and there are so many poor people who 'go through hell on this earth'. I am more and more determined to show a little bit of Heaven and sow lots of hope and cheers! Thank you for your encouragement and support!
