Sponsorship for elementary and high school education
As of June 2008 we have initiated a sponsorship program for children in public schools. Even though the public school system is paid by the Government, there are always expenses for the families such as school uniforms and shoes, art projects and note books, expenses to school guards etc. which are paid by the parents. All in all this amounts to about 50 D.kr. (10US$) per month, not a lot, but when you consider that many of the poor families have 4 – 6 children, an expense of 2 – 300 D.kr (40-50 US$) amounts to a full months wage for many.To be able to receive higher education in the form of going to college, is the dream of countless young Filipino students, but most of the time, when they’re finished high school, their family just don’t have the finances needed to send their talented children to school, so they end up with low income jobs or no jobs at all.
We were able to help find sponsors from Denmark for these two bright students, Vannie Valerie Sabalones, now in 2nd year at Asian College of Technology with Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Jeanrey Cordova, now in 1st year college studying to become an accountant.
If you want to help young students who desperately want to study, you can sign up for this program and we will furnish you with choices of young people, and we will arrange the payment with the college of their choice. You will receive updates on their studies at least twice yearly and letters of appreciation and acknowledgement from them personally.
