Dental Mission

Dentists and Dental Hygienists from Denmark come to Cebu to help give dental care to underprivileged families. The first mission took place in July 2002, and since then, Dental Missions have been arranged two or three times a year in the Visayas (Central Philippines), mostly in Cebu City and the surrounding area.

In July 2007, 23 Danish dentists came and helped through a one month long dental mission. 2596 patients were treated. Our January 2008 dental mission was held for one week at Maghaway elementary school in Talisay and at Barangay Liburun in San Fernando (south of Cebu City), where we were able to treat over 500 patients with fillings and extractions as well as cleaning. 7 dentists from Denmark joined us as volunteers in this mission.

Sponsor opportunities

It’s a continual considerable expense to buy the materials and medicines needed for the Dental Missions, along with upkeep and renewal of the equipment, as well as being able to buy new equipment. The transportation cost of moving the mobile clinic from venue to venue is another considerable expense.

You, your friends and family, your club or you company can sponsor a one week dental mission in a depressed area of Cebu, giving help to people who otherwise cannot afford to go to the dentist, and therefore often suffer pain for extended periods of time.

We can treat 1 patient, including materials and medicine for 100 D.kr. (20US$). For 10.000 D.kr. (2000 US$) we can put 10 dentists to work for one week treating about 1000 patients.
